Description

Nights are getting short in the northern summer - very short (actually we are not reaching astronomical dark). But sky brightness and Bortle scale are kind of consistent, and even a substantially phased but very low at the horizon Moon is not too much of a nuisance. But starlink is! One needs a considerable number of sessions to get one object in the late galaxy season. The choice this time is the interacting pair NGC 5216 and NGC 5218 or object 104 in Chip Arp's famous catalogue. There are a fair number of bright stars in the field, so I used the long dusk to get some short exposures, which then were folded in with HDRComposition.

Data were taken on May 30, May 31, June 1, June 2 and June 9
